mommy & Vaughn - ROund and Round

Vaughn and I have a game we play called round and round we go where we stop nobody knows! We count to 3 (although vaughn likes to start a 6 and go 6789) and spin around as fast as we can. Little does he know I always stop in front of Nanna's camera! Here are the results - not bad!

I love Ranch Dressing!

For Vaughn everything tastes better with a little ranch dressing. He tried to drink it at the table and as you can see the ranch is on his forehead! He understands dunking the bread in ranch too!

Run, Run as fast as you can I won't give you my gingerbread man!

Vaughn and Nanna made cookies today. (one of their many favorite past times) As you can see by the pictures Vaughn enjoyed the cookies! He liked reading the story too!

For Aunt Karla

Surprise! You probably don't check the blog anymore, but if you do here is a treat! Remember the fun we had over Thanksgiving. Vaughn and Luke playing with hats. Luke pretending he is cowboy Tyrone. Then, Vaughn became a warrior with his stick. That is until Sammy decided to play fetch!

Vaughn & the missing gate

Tony and I took down the baby gate at the bottom of our stairs a few days ago. I was fun to ask Vaughn what was missing and when he figured it out he gasped! He has been very into his animals lately. He likes his donkey, Elephant (Mammoth), and bear. Yesterday we played cooking with mommy. When mommy was younger she could only dream of cooking as she was the "assistant cook" Peneolpe to Karla's julia child. :) Vaughn mixed chocolate chips in a pan with a spoon! Tasted great!

Vaughn and the doctor

Well it happened again the other day. Vaughn had a cough. Tony thought it might be croup, because Campbell had it last week. We took Vaughn into the DR. Vaughn was wearing a windbreaker with sleeves that had elastic at the wrists. This normally wouldn't be a big deal except, when we took off his windbreaker Vaughn took one look at the indents in his wrist from the elastic and said "CUT". He proceeded to cry and cover up his wrist thinking he was extremely hurt. The doctor even got a good look at his ears without Vaughn moving. He of course has an ear infection. Then, the dr. wanted to give Vaughn a sticker. He cried and said "NOOOOO!" He thought it was medicine! The doctor then gave him a Thomas the train sticker and all was better.

night with mommy and II

Nana had bunko night tonight, so that meant II & Mommy were responsible for taking care of Vaughn! We had Red Lobster and Vaughn enjoyed the fine dining of croutons and ranch dressing. He especially liked the part about dunking the crouton in the dressing. Then, we had a whistling along. Mommy and II did a traditional whistle while Vaughn put his lips together like a whistle, but screamed instead of blowing air. I will try to get pic or video. very funny. We then were treated to a Vaughn attack (as II calls it) of wrestling! It lasted an hour. I don't understand boys and wrestling. Then, II got bored and we went in to the kitchen to watch baseball and eat ice cream. Vaughn get pretty much any kind of food he wants in ND. Time for bed. Vaughn sat and talked to himself for an hour after reading the BO BO book with II>

Pics from Trip up north

This captures the entire weekend. Fun Fun Fun! Vaughn sang the plain white t's Deliah and watched Jungle Book all the way up north. Wrestled with II and Daddy. Hiked a bunch. Threw rocks in the "big Lake" and talked and talked. He called Daddy's beer "apple juice" and wanted to have the oranges from the beer! Now, Vaughn and Mommy are up in Fargo again for work. He got so excited when we pulled up to Nana's and IIs house. He went right for the toys.

Ha! Up North!

FUNNY^ FUNNY Aunt Karla! I have finally gotten around to make a new entry. Vaughn had a great time with Nana, II, Daddy, & Mommy. We stayed at Cobblestone COve in Grand Marais. It was rainy, but we managed to hike and see many waterfalls. Vaughn's favorite parts were throwing rocks in the "big lake" and reciting nana's name and I I name. Nana and II had a good time too. They finally got to the north shore and saw split rock light house and temperance state park. Then on MOnday Vaughn, Daddy, Nana & II went to the train museum in Duluth. They saw an "emily" train.

It's been a long time!

Mommy doesn't seem to have the time to update my blog. After spending days trying to log in, I have finally broken the code. They have always said I was above average... I may now have reached genius level. I've been a busy boy in August and September. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. Love, Vaughn

"There must be a bathroom around here somewhere..."

This my cousin, Luke. He looks up to me and pretty much tries to imitate everything I do.

See what I mean?

Growing up Fast

Vaughn is growing up so fast. He just learned to open a door with a doorknob yesterday. Then, this morning he went down the stairs all by himself standing up holding the railing. He still does the funny stuff - like taking his shoes off in the car and laughing or not wanting to go to "acorns" so he can play with trains. What is next? Next week is the fair and I can 't wait!

I have a train in the living room and I don't know what to do!

When I came home from being gone Wed -Sunday I found a train city in the living room. As you can see by the picture Vaughn and Daddy hit the train store - as I found out. This past weekend while mommy was gone Daddy took Vaughn to see the PBS day - Elmo and Clifford the big red dog. Then, they went to the train store on Cleveland and Marshall. They couldn't leave empty handed (rather daddy couldn't leave empty handed :)) so they came home with Thomas and the Quarry. Then, Vaughn pooped his pants and ripped off the diaper and ran around naked. Guess he is ready for the potty training. Tonight we went out on the boat. Unfortunately, Vaughn didn't want to fall asleep. He did sing your are my sunshine with mommy though.

Thomas Milk

It is funny to think something tastes better in a certain glass or cup. When I was a kid, drinking "black wine" (coke in a wine glass) seemed to taste better than in a can. Vaughn thinks everything tastes better in the Thomas Cup. I have washed out the Thomas cup so much I bought 2 more Thomas the train cups. Tonight it was drinking apple juice from a can. Needless to say he had a total meltdown when he had to go to bed. After 2 glasses of Thomas milk all was quiet!

Here are some pics from this weekend. Luke enjoyed the water from the swimming pool - I guess everything tastes good when you practice drinking from a plastic cup!

Shopping with the Monkey

Today Vaughn and I went to return some things at the galleria. After making our return we had to take a ride on the elevator - ever since Montana Vaughn is super excited to ride in them. I think he understands what happens. All was going well until we went to the lucy store. I needed new pants and had a 25% coupon - it was to be a 5 min stay - that is until Vaughn went crazy! He was climbing through the racks and when I did pick him up he hit me in the face and said "stop -No' That was after he ran out of the store laughing at me because I was chasing him. I grabbed the size I thought I need and went up to the counter. I asked the sales lady if she needed a crazy 2 year old. She told me she had her hands full with a 3 year old! After that we went to Southdale and all went well. We rented a racecar stroller and mom walked really fast and move the stroller like crazy.

i-i's1st day alone with Vaughn

Today was Vaughn's 1st day alone with i-i. Nana was in Bismarck today for work. The day started with Vaughn waking up at 6:16 am and saying "hear i-i" quickly it was followed by "TOOT TOOT". Of course I told Vaughn to yell for i-i to pick him out of bed to watch the train from the window. Next it was followed by "man boy talk" over eggs and toast. Vaughn pretty much wiped i-i out. When mommy came down from her conference call around 10:00am - Vaughn and i-i were laying down for THEIR nap! Vaughn's new thing is to point and tell us - I love you. Vaughn did do something funny today - he put his little people on his train track with the trains in front of the little people to be run over.
